LEELANAU READS 2025
Leelanau County readers are encouraged to participate in a shared reading of the book The Maid, by Nita Prose.
The Maid is Clue-like, locked-room mystery and a heartwarming journey of the spirit that explores what it means to be the same as everyone else and yet entirely different—and reveals that all mysteries can be solved through connection to the human heart.

Copies of the book are available to borrow from your local library and to purchase at your local bookseller. Each library will host a discussion of the book, open to all readers, in advance of the author event.
Book discussions will be held at each library. All readers are welcome to attend.
May 8 @ 2pm at Suttons Bay Bingham District Library
May 13 @11am at Glen Lake Community Library
May 14 @ 1:30pm at Leelanau Township Library
May 15 @ 10am and 2pm at Leland Township Library
(meets at Leland Community United Methodist Church)
About Leelanau Reads

Leelanau Reads is an annual community reading initiative presented by the four public libraries of Leelanau County: Glen Lake Community Library, Leland Township Library, Leelanau Township Library, and Suttons Bay Bingham District Library. This program began in 2020 and now each year a single title is selected to inspire conversation, connection, and community engagement through the shared experience of reading.

Readers are invited to check out the selected book, participate in related events, and explore its themes together. Book discussions and author visits offer opportunities to connect with community members.
